What happens when you put up a website and pay $.02 for someone (anyone) to draw you a sheep? You get about 10,000 submissions. Of the 10,000, how many people participated by asking “WTH?”: one. The rest.. well they drew & submitted sheep.
Aaron Koblin, a data artist, conducted some interesting research and spoke about his findings in a 2011 Ted Talk. I found myself today, courtesy of Netflix, watching his speech.
Now what does one do with 10,000 drawings of sheep you might ask? You sell them. Where? The Sheep Market. Duh.
Check out the results of Koblin’s experiment right here, and if you stumble upon some sheep still available for sale, let me know. Looks like I’m sheep out of luck.
You might not need college; you just need Ted Talks.
